Call for Papers

Alekhni's Student Journal is currently accepting submissions for its inaugural issue. We publish interdisciplinary research at the intersection of humanities and social sciences that addresses pressing global challenges. See our Aims & Scope for the themes we're most interested in.

Eligibility

• Open to school students of all ages, anywhere in the world
• No institutional affiliation required
• Collaborative work between students is encouraged
• No geographical restrictions: global submissions welcome

Submission Requirements

Formatting Guidelines

• Word count: 4,000-8,000 words (including references)
• File format: .docx or .doc
• Citation style: APA 7th edition
• Double-spaced, 12pt font (Times New Roman or similar)
• Include an abstract of 150-250 words
• 5-7 keywords

Two Versions Required for Blind Review

Because every manuscript goes through double-blind peer review, you must submit two versions of your manuscript:

• Blinded manuscript: no author name, institution, acknowledgments, or self-identifying citations anywhere in the file (including document properties)
• Full manuscript with a title page: includes author name(s), institution or school (if any), and contact email

Also Include

• A brief biographical statement (50 words)
• Statement of originality and conflict of interest

Review Process

Our supportive peer-review process typically takes 8-12 weeks. All manuscripts go through double-blind peer review, meaning reviewers don't know who wrote the piece and authors don't know who reviewed it:

1. Initial screening for scope and basic requirements
2. Double-blind peer review using your blinded manuscript
3. Constructive feedback provided to all authors
4. Revision period with guidance from editors
5. Final acceptance and copyediting
6. Publication with DOI assignment

Our recurring areas of interest are:

• Health and wellbeing
• Inequality and systemic injustice, and how people resist, negotiate, and push back against it
• Cooperation and social life: how communities organize and work together
